ELCA Draft Social Statement on Women and Justice. Join Pr. David each Sunday morning in January from 9am to 10am in the narthex as we read through and reflect on the latest ELCA Draft Social Statement. The draft is available for download from ELCA.org/womenandjustice. All are invited.

Crossroads Urban Center Mission Sunday, January 21 at Tabor. We join our mission partners at Crossroads in their efforts to End Child Homelessness through prayers and advocacy. You are invited to bring a pack of disposable diapers between now and January 21 to meet the needs of families on our streets. The larger Toddler size diapers are always in great demand. Thank you for your support of the Crossroads Diaper Drive this month!  Our guest speaker will be Linda Hilton.

Tabor's "Faith, Ethics, and Science Roundtable" will meet Monday January 22 from 11:30am to 1pm, in Room 117 of the Research Administration Bldg at the University. The Research Admin Bldg is a two-story brick building located on the Health Sciences Campus. A large public parking garage is located just northeast of it. Our topic will be "Implications and Take-Aways: the October workshop on ethical issues in human germ-line editing." What has happened since the workshop, in this quickly evolving field of medicine and research? All are invited.

Pride Sunday is January 28 at Tabor. We have been a "Reconciling in Christ" congregation of the ELCA for over 25 years! Our guest speaker is Salt Lake City District Attorncy Sim Gill. Invite your friends!

Mt. Tabor's annual meeting to decide our 2018 budget will convene after services on February 4, 2018. Copies of proposed changes to the constitution are available for review in the narthex. The printed annual report will be available for review by Sunday, January 21.

Martha Circle will meet at 1:00 pm on Thursday, January 11th at Tabor for Bible Study.

OAKS (Older Adults Knowing Strength) luncheon will be held on Wednesday, January 17th at noon at the church.

Opportunity for Teens to participate in the 2018 Ulster Project The Ulster Project is inviting teens who are in the 9th grade or are 15 years old to apply for the 2018 Project which will be held in July. The Project is a Christian peace project set up to bring teens from Northern Ireland and Utah together here in Salt Lake City in a structured program of fun activities, service projects and exercises to teach trust, tolerance and mutual respect, particularly as they relate to religious intolerance. Crossroads Food Barrel: You are invited to bring non-perishable food donations to the barrel in the narthex for the local food Pantry. They have no special needs at this time. All donations are appreciated. Food is delivered weekly to Crossroads on 400 East in SLC.

Choir rehearsals meet on Tuesday nights at 7:30 pm.

Visit our spiritual direction room. Come up the east stairs, and it's the fourth door on the left (Room #10). Stay as long as you like for prayer, meditation, or just a quiet moment for yourself. Please put all books back in the shelf before you leave. You will find things to take home with you as well. Many thanks to Pr. DanaLee Simon for making this available to us all!

Tabor's Solar Energy: Our carbon off-set for December was 1,026 lbs (the equivalent of 12 Trees). In 2016 our 23 solar panels produced 7.27 MWh (2 MWh more than 2015!).
