Jubilee USA Monthly Calls
Dear Mount Tabor Lutheran Church,
This is Robert Ladao, the Development and Executive Associate for Jubilee this spring.
With the United States preparing to host the first G20 since 2009, Jubilee efforts are shaping key conversations on the global agenda. As we look ahead, we are mobilizing Jubilee faith communities and congregations to press world leaders to make stronger commitments on debt relief for global economic stability, job growth and poverty alleviation at home and abroad.
We conduct these preparations in our monthly congregation calls, the first Tuesday of every month at 1:00 p.m. ET. Our next speaker will be Rev. Dr. Nicolle D. Jean-Simon, speaking on redemption, salvation, and how the debt crisis affects real people. Click here to register for a Zoom link for our call next Tuesday: https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/DlaSUEPRRXGsU1TZd7Rx9Q
These sermons will continue monthly as part of our lead-up to December’s G20 and our Jubilee pilgrimage to Miami. Together, we can ready our hearts, deepen our relationships, and discern how we are called to faithful public witness on debt relief.
Gratefully,
Robert Ladao

September Worship Assistants
Please remember that it is your responsibility to find a replacement and to let Pastor Christine and Kristin know.
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
Our monthly meeting for August will take place next week on August 5 at noon on Zoom. The focus of the meeting will be be a discussion about how FACE Hunger and Homelessness members can participate in Crossroads Urban Center's Poverty Summit on August 29. What questions do we want to ask the policymakers who are participating in the Summit? How can we use the Summit to set uo future conversations with those policymakers?
Our goal is to have this meeting begin on time and end within 30 minutes so that everyone who attends feels that their time has been valued. If you have questions or ideas you would like to discuss with me before the meeting please let me know.
Bill Tibbitts, Director
FACE Hunger and Homelessness
P.S. We want to thank all the amazing congregations that are donating food for us this month as part of the Golden Celery Trophy Competition Food Drive. The final day for donations to be counted for the competition is August 5th. We are hoping to be able to announce the winner of the competition at worship services for the winning congregation on the weekend of August 8-9.
